Our Final Plenary DECIDER Meeting

The DECIDER project is coming to its end, so this June the consortium gathered in Copenhagen for the final Plenary Meeting. For two days, we welcomed 40 consortium members and one Advisory Board representative to the premises of the Danish Cancer Society. Tuula Kallunki and her team hosted this year’s meeting, and sunny, vibrant Copenhagen provided the perfect setting for our last in-person gathering.

The agenda focused on two key themes. The first day was dedicated to reflection – what we have learned over the course of the project, what worked well, and what we would approach differently in the future. On the second day we looked ahead, focusing on future plans and opportunities. During the dinner and poster session, there was plenty of time for informal discussions and conversations about continuing collaborations and how best to build on our results.

We were also pleased to be joined again by a member of our Advisory Board, Iain McNeish. His insights, feedback, and suggestions were invaluable as we consider how to carry our work forward and maximize the impact of the project outcomes.

Looking back to our first in-person meeting in Finland in 2022, it is clear how much the consortium has grown, not only in expertise, but as a team. Over the past years, we have connected through a number of online and face-to-face meetings, building strong working relationships along the way. My sincere thanks to everyone involved: all consortium members for their outstanding scientific work, our dedicated Project Officers at the European Commission, patient representatives and our Advisory Board members for their continued guidance and support.

Now is the time to bring the project to a strong close, ensuring that our results are fully utilised, our collaborations continue to grow, and that future research can build on the foundation we have created together.
