Benno Schwikowski
Benno Schwikowski, PhD, leads the Systems Biology Lab at Institut Pasteur. His group develops statistical and computational tools to analyse large-scale, high-throughput data, in particular, data from single cell transcriptomics, using interaction networks. He has pioneered the analysis of large-scale protein interaction networks, and the Cytoscape software for the integrated analysis and visualization of such networks. In collaboration with groups from the United States and Canada, Schwikowski has developed Cytoscape into the world-leading software platform for data-driven network analysis. His group continues the development of statistical and computational tools to analyse large-scale, high-throughput data, in particular, in network contexts. In DECIDER, the Schwikowski group focuses on network modelling and coordinates the design and implementation of an open-source software, eXplAIner, to translate novel diagnostic and predictive patient data-driven algorithms and intelligent human-computer interfaces into rapid and unprecedented opportunities to translate research data into clinical decision-making.
