FIMM is a research institute under the University of Helsinki and it is the Finnish node of the Nordic EMBL Partnership for Molecular Medicine. Tuomo Pentikäinen manages currently the VEIL.AI company – a spin-out from Institute for Molecular Medicine Finland. He has 20 years experience in building and running research-based start-ups and scale-ups in Finland, Sweden, Switzerland and the USA. Prior to his business career he has worked as a senior researcher and research group leader at VTT – Technical Research Center of Finland, and as a director of an innovation financing programme. His specific competences consist of business, product and go-to-market strategies and risk financing. He holds an M.Sc (Econ) degree from Helsinki School of Economics and Business administration.
